Dedicated tabs

🗂️ Dedicated tabs

To work on your selling sites without getting in the way of your browsing, the FlowDino extension uses one dedicated tab per site. Your automations and message monitoring run in this tab.

On this page

🎯 What the dedicated tab is for

  • Running your automations on the site: renewals, views, favourites, replies to favourites, fetching sales, deletions.
  • Fetching your conversations for FlowDino messaging and posting your replies.
  • Spotting new messages, offers and favourites, to answer them without waiting for the next scheduled run.
  • Reading the username of the signed-in account, to run that account's tasks and no other's.

📏 Rules to know

  • Only one dedicated tab per site and per browser.
  • The tab uses the account signed in to the site in this browser: it decides which tasks run here.
  • Chrome must stay open, with the extension signed in and your session open on the site.
  • Each Chrome profile has its own dedicated tabs, with its own accounts.

👍 Good practices

  • Let the dedicated tab work: don't close it or browse in it while a task is running.
  • Use your other tabs freely, including on the same site.
  • Don't sign out of the site: without a session, the tab can no longer do anything for that site.
  • If you sign in to another account on the site, this browser will run that account's tasks.

⚠️ Signing out of the site or switching accounts during a task interrupts it: items already processed stay done, the rest is resumed later.

⏳ When the tab is not available

If the dedicated tab can't be used (tab closed, publishing in progress on the site, expired session), the task is not lost: it is postponed. It runs on the next pass, or on another browser signed in to the same account.

👥 Several accounts on the same site

A browser has only one session per site, so one dedicated tab and one account per site. To automate several accounts of the same site, use one Chrome profile per account: each has its dedicated tab and runs its account's tasks.

❓ Frequently asked questions

I closed the dedicated tab by mistake.

No problem: the running task is postponed and resumed later. Just avoid closing it while a task is running.

My automations no longer run on a site.

Check that you are still signed in to the site in this browser, with the right account, and that this account is "Active" in "My selling accounts".

Why a separate tab rather than the one I have open?

So as not to interrupt what you are doing: you keep browsing and publishing in your tabs while the extension works in its own.
